Our workshops are tailored to fit your needs, so whether you want a one-day workshop focused on one activity such as TV filming, or a two-day activity which incorporates studio presenting, or a three-day workshop which also incorporates making radio. The choice is yours. We will design a bespoke workshop for you. We already work with many schools to assist with the GCSE and A’Level English and Media Curriculum. And we work with younger pupils to aid confidence and language skills. Other schools and groups simply want to provide an exciting and creative experience for young people. Short media workshops can run all year round, and at weekends.
Many schools incorporate the workshops into activity and enhancement weeks in May, June and July. Every workshop is designed for the needs of each school and the pupils attending. Our hands-on workshops are designed to cover all aspects of modern media. Workshops are creative, inspiring and fantastic fun. They enable young people to work alongside experienced industry experts, and undergraduate and postgraduate students from the University of Salford act as mentors. We provide a unique and valuable experience, but we also offer a genuine insight into an exciting, growing industry.
Our summer holiday camps run during July and August and are an amazing opportunity to spend a day or a week immersing yourself in the media industry at MediaCityUK. You will learn how to shoot a film, how to be a TV director, editor and presenter, how to drive a radio desk, and present your own music shows or radio drama. You will learn from industry experts from the BBC, ITV and Sky, and you will cover all aspects of creating modern media from photography and radio production to film-making and voice training skills. You will work in teams and you’ll be up against tight deadlines to create your own TV and radio shows, newspapers and magazine pages.
